1. Challenge Wanaka, Lake Wanaka
Wanaka is a town on the South Island of New Zealand. Queenstown, the adventure capital of New Zealand, is 75 miles away. Picturesque mountains and views of the beautiful Laka Wanaka will surround you when you race. Challenge Wanaka originally was a full distance triathlon, with half-distance and other options available. However, it’s been announced that in 2019, Challenge Wanaka will focus on the half-distance option and the Aqua-Bike challenge.
2. London Triathlon, London
If you’re looking for a city-based Triathlon, what better city to do one in than London! You would start near Canary Wharf, in the Docklands, and can compete in a variety of distances, which span throughout London’s sites and much along the Thames. This is a great opportunity to see London in a unique way; Swim, cycle and run around London and take advantage of the closed roads!
3. Ironman Mount-Tremblant, Quebec, Canada
Ironman Mount-Tremblant was voted as the Best Race Venue in the Ironman Athletes Choice Awards 2017, and it’s no wonder. Mount-Tremblant is predominantly a ski resort, based in the northwest of Montreal. There are stunning views of mountains and nature that will surround you as you complete the course, as well as beautiful village scenery.
4. Norseman Xtreme Triathlon, Eidjord
Eidfjord is a village in Norway, and is the home of the Norseman Xtreme Triathlon. This triathlon covers a total distance of 226km and athletes battle through tough vertical ascents totalling 5235m and cold temperatures of under 15 degrees to get to the finish line. The course is a point-to-point course through mountains, boasting incredible mountain views and nature.
5. Triathlon Alpe D’Huez, France
This triathlon takes place in L’Alpe D’Huez, which is a ski resort in France. French mountain views in the sun are the main attraction to this course, and with a variety of distances available, the event attracts athletes of all abilities!
6. Blenheim Palace Triathlon, Blenheim
Blenheim is a breathtaking historic palace situated in the Oxfordshire countryside. It’s full of history, plus surrounded by beautiful British gardens and nature. The Blenheim Palace Triathlon is a sprint or super sprint distance triathlon that will see you through a tour of the site and surrounding grounds.
